Sven has been "doing" open source for over 20 years - working on almost the full stack - from Javascript and Collaboration suites such as TWiki and Foswiki, to custom Linux micro distributions such as Boot2Docker and RancherOS. At the moment he works on building research delivery and processing pipeline orchestration systems and on FollyEngine, a full stack :D system for progressivly enhancing immersive theater events.

Abstract

In my day job, I'm a DevOp. In my almost non-existent spare time, I build hardware and software for immersive theater. We just did the final chapter of the current "Game" at Woodford, and to add to the magic of the festival wide user lead adventure, we have interactive installations that become a part of the story. Inside, is a horrific mess of raspberry pi's, esp8266 and esp32's, all chattering away on wifi, blinken lights, movement and sound - and that's what I'll talk about. The failures are always epic, the successes mindblowing, and the smoke, everywhere. see https://woodfordfolkfestival.com/programme/the-game/ Linux Australia: http://mirror.linux.org.au/pub/linux.conf.au/2020/room_5/Monday/Emersive_theatre_tech_building_actuators_last_minute.webm YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQewq-DmK28
